Lead Graphics Technician. Assigned to the Telecom Division to supervise graphics technicians in the production of electrical drawings including wiring diagrams, SCADA drawings and schematics. Engineering Technician 5. Assigned to the Power Division Structural Department worked on power plant civil/structural drawings including underground piping, foundations and structural steel. Started working in the Power Delivery Division in the Transmission Line Group working on both above ground and below ground transmission lines. . Moved to the Telecom Division providing construction drawings for cell sites and intergrated networks including fiber to the home. Reassigned to Power Delivery Division working in the substation group. Using Microstation V8, Autocad Land Development Desktop 2005.

04/93 - 06/00 BUTLER MANUFACTURING COMPANY, VISALIA, CA

Engineering Technician III. Worked one year in the Custom Building Group in Kansas City detailing high complexity commercial buildings. Continued detailing for one year in Custom Building Group in Visalia detailing Landmark hardwall projects. Spent three years as Service Representative pricing building orders, doing engineered parts orders, and coordinating orders to meet the builder's needs. Also spent eight months as training coordinator working with new employees to teach them how to detail building orders.

11/91 - 4/93 ARMCO WORLDWIDE GRINDING SYSTEMS, KANSAS CITY, MO.

Associate Engineering Specialist/Maintenance Planner. Work included layout, design and supervision of installation of equipment and buildings, such as finish mill shears, maintenance office and extensions to the weld and guide shops. Other responsibilities included the design and over seeing fabrication of various pieces of mill equipment, drawing up mill sections, calculating areas and figuring reductions between mill stands. The duties of the planner were to schedule maintenance work on a daily and weekly basis. Ordering parts, scheduling the crafts, estimating hours, and tracking costs for both in-house and outside crafts. Types of equipment sued IBM PC and Macintosh with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Filemaker Pro data base software. Drafting programs used AutoCad 10, 11, 12 and Cadkey 3.3.

09/85 - 11/91 BIBB & ASSOCIATES, INC., SHAWNEE MISSION, KS.

Cadd Engineering/Technician. Assignments include power plant general arrangement drawings for business development. Types of drawings produced P&ID diagrams, HVAC, architectural, electrical, piping layouts, civil, structural plans, details and design including standard structural details using Intergraph MicroStation software. Made mark-up drawings for others to work on. Approximately 2 years field design work at Armco, Inc. including rolls, wheels, guides, troughs, furnace structural design, water cooling for rolls, plant layouts, project supervision and surveying. Other types of field work includes structural building design at the UMC power plant and exterior renovation at WAFB.

02/85 - 09/85 MELVIN GREEN & ASSOCIATES, MANHATTAN BEACH, CA.

Structural Designer. Duties included working directly with clients on structural design problems as well as providing architectural drawings. The main job was to provide clients with seismic reinforcing drawings for existing structures to bring them up to current building codes. Also to submit plans to the proper city agencies for building permits required to accomplish the completion of projects, as well as architectural plans and elevations for new projects, in conjunction with structural drawings and details.

08/84 - 02/85 INTERFIELD ENGINEERING, DALLAS TX.

Structural Draftsman. Layout of structural plans and details for banks, schools, shopping centers and warehouses. Designs were drawings made and then given to an engineer to check for accuracy. The designs were based on information received from the architect which the draftsman worked directly with during the design.

08/82 - 08/84 RMI STRUCTURES, DALLAS, TX.

Structural Draftsman. General duties include taking architectural drawings and laying out the structural skeleton of that particular building. This includes the layout of details, giving the job to the engineer for design and following up after the design is completed. Types of structures worked on include churches, banks, jails, warehouses, shopping centers and government projects. Additional duties include coordination of drawings with the architect's office and doing redlines for others to work on. Also have the training to see details required for structural support. Set up CADD drafting system for office and standard structural details on the computer system.

08/80 - 08/82 JOHN HAWKS TRUCKING, LENEXA, KS.

Semi Driver. Duties included operating a 1980 Freightliner with a 13 speed transmission, in 48 states hauling dry freight, meat and produce. Office work included bookkeeping, payroll and typing of bills. Warehouse work included crate building, operating a forklift, shipping and receiving.

10/79 - 08/80 CHIEF INDUSTRIES, INC., GRAND ISLAND, NE.

Research & Development Project Tech II. Assigned to the metal buildings division that designs commercial farm buildings. Did research for standard buildings and developed a system for faster engineering of this product. Worked the Auto-Graphics System a CADD program. Did general layout work for erection manuals, also made individual part drawings for farm, agricultural and commercial buildings.

10/77 - 10/79 BUTLER MANUFACTURING CO., KANSAS CITY, MO.

Detail Draftsman. Assigned to the Agri-Products Division that designs grain storage buildings and animal housing for farm use. Made drawings for manuals, individual drawings of structural steel assemblies for shop use. Foundations and anchor bolt layout for farm buildings. Re-work sketches for nonstandard endwall conditions, including processing parts and isometric and perspective drawings. Assisted engineer at Butler test facilities, Grandview, MO., with experiment of grain bin floor for live load capacities. Worked with design engineer at Underwriters Laboratory, Chicago, IL testing roof paneling for wind load conditions.

05/76 - 10/77 BLACK AND VEATCH, OVERLAND PARK, KS.

Junior Drafter. After completing the Black and Veatch training program was assigned to the Arabian Service Corporation Division. Made electrical grounding layouts for power plants and substations for Saudi Arabia. Worked with engineer to provide schematics for Systematic Control and Data Analysis Group (SCADA). Made electrical wiring diagrams.
